2021 *A Year in Review*

It just seems wrong to stop posting these when I've been doing them so long so here goes!

Some highlights of 2021:

  • Getting engaged and married

  • 10 days of very low key winter adventures in Banff/Nelson

  • Exploring Utah and then the Grand Tetons over the summer

  • A fresh start with new students in September

  • Kayaking the Harrison

  • Coming very close to completing the bus

Goals for 2021 and how they went:

  • Eat more veggies - three salads a week? Find a good source of calcium. I ate over 80 salads this year. It was miserable but it happened. And then the school year ended and I had access to a lot more good food and gave up. The calcium... oops.

  • Lead a 5.10. I did not lead a 5.10 but I did climb a 5.10 on my first try following so I'm going to roll with it.

  • Bible reading. Hmm, it was an okay year but not fantastic.

  • Run twice a week January - March. In March I ran a lot? Does that count? Ran a marathon distance on the Trans Canada Trail over the course of Spring Break which was very fun.

  • Work on strengthening my shoulders to avoid injury. TOTAL FAIL... just going to shift this forward.

  • Apply to a teaching program and see what happens. I applied. I needed another course. I also decided that teaching isn't for me.

  • Practice Spanish. Oof. Kinda happened.

Goals for 2022:
  • A woodworking project start to finish on my own
  • Climb the Goat
  • Three day backpacking trip near home
  • Job change?
  • Hike Welch and Foley
  • Winter backpacking trip
  • Another river kayak like Harrison
  • Youth backpacking or camping trip
  • Hike 12 peaks
  • Paint mural in bus
  • Book bible study?
  • Visit physio/chiropractor for shoulder

Things I am looking forward to for 2022:
  • Living in the bus, making it home and finishing lots of little projects
  • Weekend trips with TJ and other friends
  • More time to workout, read and connect with friends
  • Growing as a human
