2020 *A Year in Review*

Every meme for the past 8 months has hated on 2020 but I, personally, had a pretty solid year. My resolution for 2020 was to just be and it turned out it was the ultimate year for that.

Some highlights:

  • Hiking almost the height of Everest three times over the course of the summer

  • Backpacking the Tonquin Valley and climbing Takkakaw Falls

  • First ever climbing trip to Washington

  • Picnics, hikes, climbing, grilled cheese and so many beautiful moments

  • A couple periods of self isolating that proved to be times of rest and rejuvenation

  • Taking a math course that challenged me and somehow ended up helping me learn about myself

  • Settling into friendships and community in Chilliwack

Some goals for 2021:

  • Eat more veggies - three salads a week? Find a good source of calcium.

  • Lead a 5.10

  • Bible reading

  • Run twice a week January - March

  • Work on strengthening my shoulders to avoid injury

  • Apply to a teaching program and see what happens

  • Practice Spanish

Things I am looking forward to:

  • More climbing this spring and summer!

  • Possibly hiking the GDT or part of it this summer

  • Going back to school to learn things I am interested in learning/the challenge of going back to school

  • Hopefully learning more about my body/health

  • Branching out with some new hikes and maybe trying some legit canyoneering this summer?

  • Continuing to enjoy my job and co-workers

  • Feeling more and more comfortable in Chilliwack

  • Living in a little suite that just feels so comfortable and cozy

  • Being able to leave the country and see many of my close friends and family again

  • Seeing God continue to work in my life and knowing that his plans are so much greater than mine
